Cash Advances

The Watercheck scandal of 1977.

In November of 1977, Bob Cobblestone was involved in one of the most scandalous lending controversies in history. It all began when a young girl who had been interning in a Washington D.C.'s lender's office claimed that her boss was secretly giving out cash advances to customers who were not qualified. She even claimed that her boss had lent cash advances of denominations as high as $3000 to an unnamed customer for as little as 5 dollars per 100 borrowed.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation was immediately called in to investigate these claims about the cash advances. They were soon tipped off by a secret informant known as Deep Loan, who claimed that he knew the identity of the customer receiving these mammoth cash advances. That customer, as it happened, was none other than Bob Cobblestone himself. And now, for the first time in years, Bob Cobblestone comments on this scandal:

Bob:

"It is obviously a well known fact by now that I was in fact the person receiving the extremely large cash advances for such a low lending fee. But I didn't do anything wrong. I just have a certain talent for negotiating, that's all. While we're on the subject, would you perhaps like to loan me some money? Wink, wink. It's just that I really could use some cash at the moment. I promise I'll put it to very good use!"

Wow, he never stops, does he? But while we're on the subject, we might as well give him a little bit of money, right? I mean, it couldn't really hurt. could it? Maybe just a few $20's - just enough so he can get by that is. We don't want our hero to go hungry, do we? Just a few bucks, ok?
